The 2011 Great Potato Weigh-In competition in Wold Newton (UK), was launched at the begining of the spring when the potato buckets were handed out to those members interested in participating. This year nearly 50 people participated in this local and funny competition, including Tom Guallar and Janet Brown.
After some months trying to grow the biggest weight of potatoes in those little buckets, last sunday, the 4th. of September, in the gardens of Wold Newton Hall, they gave the prizes for the winners.
Congratulations to the winner, Lynton Batten, who recorded a crop of 3,721 kgs.
But the most important for us was that Tom finish in SECOND position with 3,609 kgs. of potatoes and Janet THIRD with 3,270 kgs. Tom and Janet won a box of chocolates and a bottle of wine.
