North of England Track & Field League - Match 3 (ENG)

Scarborough Athletic Club had their most successful track and field league meeting for 3 seasons, when they finished clear winners of the 3rd of 4 fixtures in the Division 3 match of the Northern League, which was held at the Huntington Stadium York on Sunday 3 July. This was the second victory in the league this season after gaining promotion from Division 4 last year, and as a result, the club is now in an overall lead, and needs a only a third place finish at the final fixture next month, which will be their ‘home’ fixture back at the Huntington Stadium, to seal promotion to Division 2.

A total of 18 club members competed so well at the meeting, that they achieved a total of 24 event wins, 17 of which were achieved by the club’s 8 women athletes, who continue to outscore their male counterparts in the league. Another significant contributing factor to the team’s overall success was that 13 of the 18 club members achieved at least one personal best performance at the meeting.
