John Trelfa passed away on Saturday night.
John was a very popular and charismatic member of the Scarborough Athletic Club, he will be missed very much.

John would like a 'Humanist' funeral - this is one that celebrates the life of a non-religious person, the British Humanist Association describes a Humanist as:
"...are atheists and agnostics who make sense of the world using reason, experience and shared human values. We take responsibility for our actions and base our ethics on the goals of human welfare, happiness and fulfilment. We seek to make the best of the one life we have by creating meaning and purpose for ourselves, individually and together."

John also would like that all his running club friends and colleagues come to his funeral dressed in their running kit.
So, please go wearing your Scarborough AC vest (shorts as well if you wish but if a bit cool then I'm sure that leggings are acceptable as well!)
And also if you have a bandana, especially a red one then please wear it as we all remember John always running in his bandana.
