
Kate Avery from Shildon A.C. first woman to cross the line.
Whilst Scarborough Athletic Club were unable to provide the overall winner of the third running of the Yorkshire Coast 10 kilometre road race, they achieved some excellent team and individual results.
The club's women's team achieved a clear win ahead of local rivals Beverley Athletic Club and a total of 13 other teams. The first three Scarborough runners finished in 2nd, 5th and 6th., whilst the leading Beverley finisher was back in 13th. Louise Brown headed Katy Rawnsley and last year's winner Hester Butterworth, sealing victory when finishing 6th.

Whilst the home club was unable to provide the overall winner, there was some outstanding results by club's veteran runners, 7 of whom finished first in their age groups. ...

Mark Colling, Over 45
Jane Hamp, Over 50
Ted Kraft, Over 55
Neil Scruton, Over 60Mick Thompson, Over 70
In addition, Mike Willis and Dave Reading were runners up in the Over 65 and Over 70 groups respectively. Mally Sweetlove was the 3rd Over 60, and Avril Reading almost matched her husband Dave's Over 70 runner up spot, when finishing 3rd Over 65.
